I was just on Facebook with a dear old friend in Dublin. \u00a0We decided that I absolutely must visit Dublin later this year and check out the IRISH ART SCENE!!!! YES! \u00a0I will.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now we have a P R O J E C T! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s get FRAU KOLB to DUBLIN by September! \u00a0How does that sound? \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Do YOU LOVE the idea of Frau Kolb, hitting London, first\u2014\u2014of course\u2014 I mean, I can\u2019t get that close to the Tate, and the Rothko Room, there and The Turners at the National Gallery\u2026 Ah! \u00a0I love art and I can\u2019t wait to learn more about contemporary\u00a0art in Ireland! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe I will have the pleasure of meeting Bono, again. \u00a0Thanks to a teenage best friend\u2019s father\u2019s connections I got to go dancing with the lead singer of U2 when I was a wee lass growing up in very IRISH Manhattan. \u00a0My\u00a0maiden name is Irish and you know I got faded yesterday, in anticipation of today. \u00a0Thus, kiss me\u2026\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m like Barack Obama, truly and honestly BLACK IRISH at heart, forever!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The last few years have presented me with too many opportunities to expire. \u00a0We all face that possibility on some level everyday. \u00a0Violence, bad art, or disease might be a sudden end to anyone that isn<\/span>\u2019t careful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus,\u00a0<\/span>inoculate\u00a0yourself\u00a0<\/span>against\u00a0the dangerous world. \u00a0Retreat into contemporary art. \u00a0(Hah!)<\/span><\/p>\n

Readers! \u00a0 Frau Kolb is blown away by the fact that you keep coming back to read this lowly and scattered, strange and too personal, art infused blog by artist and personality, Frau Kolb. \u00a0YES! \u00a0WE make a\u00a0<\/span>great pair, you and eye. \u00a0YOUR eyeballs keep rolling over my early morning words. \u00a0Thus, I\u2019m inspired to keep writing them. \u00a0We are a symbiotic unit. \u00a0Thank you!<\/p>\n

Finally, I<\/span>\u2019ve achieved one of my life<\/span>\u2019s most important and previously unattainable goals: I write daily. \u00a0Writing, traditionally is a solitary practice. \u00a0I love reading and practice this on my own, quietly. \u00a0Yet, writing for me is best like this, in flow, daily and knowing that someone, one of my many friends, will read what I write and let me know if it is shite or true gold that I have spun. I have written, almost daily, for several years now. \u00a0I have to admit, however, that i achieved this lofty goal, in the most unlikely place, and least exclusive, on-line venue Facebook. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was on Facebook that I tripped into an incredible circle of amazing artists, art critics, consultants, power personalities one and all; many of whom I<\/span>\u2019d never heard of before, some I<\/span>\u2019ve known since my teens<\/span>\u2026\u00a0all are active, moving, pushing, edging forward. \u00a0It is fascinating to observe the\u00a0<\/span>Machiavellian\u00a0style with which some\u00a0<\/span>wield\u00a0their on-line art might.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After about a year of dancing around the armies of humans flaunting their visual art prowess and connectedness<\/span>\u2026\u00a0I became fatigued. \u00a0 I went on a\u00a0<\/span>campaign\u00a0to rid myself of all the deadwood I<\/span>\u2019d amassed in a friend requesting frenzy which took a big part of a year to initiate and then another year to prune this wild garden to what it is now: a tidy plot<\/span>\u2026\u00a0my Facebook list is now, reduced to the kindest, sweetest, and most uplifting people. \u00a0I recently, friended someone I<\/span>\u2019d un-friended because, frankly, the woman is sharp, even her name suggests it. \u00a0I unfriended her and so many others because, I don<\/span>\u2019t want to be an aspiring big personality<\/span>\u2019s Bitch. \u00a0That is right, I<\/span>\u2019ve said it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
