Thank you for viewing.<\/p>\n<p>Last week.\u00a0 Last Tuesday.\u00a0 It feels like ages ago\u2026<\/p>\n<p>31 May 2013<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/talkinggrid.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/img_6357_med.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"normal size-full wp-image-1273 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/talkinggrid.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/img_6357_med.jpg?resize=189%2C336&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"img_6357_med\" width=\"189\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/talkinggrid.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/img_6357_med.jpg?w=189&amp;ssl=1 189w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/talkinggrid.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/img_6357_med.jpg?resize=168%2C300&amp;ssl=1 168w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 189px) 100vw, 189px\" \/><\/a>It was the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacma.org\/art\/exhibition\/james-turrell-retrospective\" target=\"_blank\">James Turrell<\/a>\u00a0exclusive donor opening, elegant guests were dressed in formal attire.\u00a0 Tall skinny European looking models waited to greet invited guests at the entrance to Los Angeles&#8217;s most esteemed art venue, the Los Angeles County Museum and we were outside\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacma.org\/art\/exhibition\/james-turrell-retrospective\">LACMA<\/a>, rather than inside, sipping Champagne\u2026 as we&#8217;d been IF we had so desired. \u00a0Snow, had an invitation, after all. \u00a0Yet, WE were OUTSIDE LACMA performing\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/projectartexchange.com\/press-release.html\" target=\"_blank\">our fifth and most singular Intervention\/Exchange in Skip Snow\u2019s Art Project<\/a>. \u00a0 Rather delightfully and in-line with narrative expectations, WE experienced our first BUST.\u00a0 In other words, this was the first Intervention that FAILED to relieve Mr. Snow of all six of his give-away original works of painted art on nicely labeled on stretched linen canvas, (professional gallery paintings,\u00a0<em>really)<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>I must admit that I benefitted by the lack of interest in our performance by the few guests that even cast a patronizing glance in our direction, I took home the penultimate painting.\u00a0 I wanted it at first sight. \u00a0From the start of the evening I had my EYE on Snow&#8217;s Hammer. \u00a0Truth be told: I\u2019d have gladly paid Skip Snow good money for the piece; which is of a portrait of HAMMER with this wonderful digital scroll of binary code wrapped around it like smoke.\u00a0 I LUCKED OUT!\u00a0 I\u2019m pleased as punch because I had my EYE on this piece the moment I saw it.\u00a0 I coveted it for MY (growing) ART COLLECTION!<\/p>\n<p>Anyway\u2026 Todd Gray walked away, at THE END before THE END, which is always\u2026a little sad.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway\u2026 IT wasn\u2019t an entirely \u201csuccessful,\u201d evening. \u00a0Snow had to take one excellent little painting home with him and yet\u2026 we did it AGAIN!\u00a0 I collected some quirky and intriguing footage of the almost ideal performance outside LACMA during an exclusive event people by well groomed, the\u00a0<em>presumably<\/em>, 1% crowd.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The well coiffed important people in formal attire did NOT bother to entertain SNOW\u2019S sidewalk offer of a FREE painting.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He could NOT give \u2018em away. \u00a0You should have seen, the suspicion with which he was regarded. \u00a0It was criminal, the way they regarded him as street vermin, and so blatantly mistrustful! \u00a0Have these art patrons NO INTEREST in street art? \u00a0 It was LIKE we were BEGGARS: Skip Snow, Todd Gray and I. \u00a0<strong>Frau Kolb in a sexy black leather jacket, standing in front of LACMA being pathetic and BEGGIN\u2019 for attention<\/strong>, faithfully documenting the sweet people that went out of their way to show support to our creative collaboration.\u00a0 It was so sad.\u00a0 SO SAD!\u00a0 HEART WRENCHING! And yet\u2026 inspiring. \u00a0AH! \u00a0I&#8217;m so glad Snow invited me to document his work. \u00a0It is a pleasure to behold the unfolding of this series of explorations of context and value, identity and worth. \u00a0Excellent,\u00a0<em>really<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>However, we will recover.\u00a0 ONE thing about us here at the TALKINGGRID is that we are quick to bounce BACK!\u00a0\u00a0 WE are ready to move forward with the project, as we set our sights on our next and final target.\u00a0 Where will it be?\u00a0 Where will Skip Snow\u2019s ART PROJECT Intervention\/Exchange VI take us?<\/p>\n<p>Well\u2026 hold ON TIGHT and stay tuned for more on the adventures of artist Skip Snow, Frau Kolb, and Todd Gray\u2019s collaborative miracle, the ONE and ONLY, SKIP SNOW\u2019s Intervention\/Exchange Art Project 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Much LOVE,<\/p>\n<p>Frau Kolb<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now, in this piece, shot mostly with my iPhone we explore the edge between amateur\/outsider and savvy insider. \u00a0This frequently explored yet rarely documented gray zone demands attention.
