<\/a><\/p>\n“Spring Clean in LA,” \u00a9 Frau Kolb 2013<\/em><\/p>\n Yes it is true that I HATE to clean.\u00a0 I get angry, very angry, when I clean.\u00a0 I get mean.\u00a0 I am vicious.\u00a0 Merciless.\u00a0 Ruthless in my aspirations to perfection!\u00a0 I do not relent until das HAUS sparkles!<\/p>\n I mean it.<\/p>\n My anti-intellectual Jehovah Witness mother LOVES to clean.\u00a0 She loves nothing more than to disinfect and purify in flowing waters all manner of apparatus.\u00a0 \u201cMY, my!\u201d Said my German boyfriend then (husband NOW),\u00a0 \u201cYour mother\u2019s house is super clean,\u201d the first time he visited.\u00a0Typical of my husband is to be spot ON! \u00a0100% correct in his observations. \u00a0 Unlike the others he wastes not time talking trash.<\/p>\n \u201cWhy do YOU TWO have so many books???\u201d She would whine, complaining of my father (a resolute intellectual, proud of his learning, immersed in aquiring more and young attorney in Dominican Republic when they met and I his offspring, a chip off the old mahogany, a little NEW YORKER book-reading fast talking bike riding brat).\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cThey get so dusty!\u201d \u00a0She would moan as she wiped the books with moist cloth towels. \u00a0She did all the washing by hand. \u00a0She care(s)d about, “the environment.” \u00a0She hand NO THING better to do than WASHING. \u00a0She certainly did NOT read.<\/p>\n Except for the FREE literature from the Jehovah Witness’s and nutrition books. \u00a0MOM was a health NUT. \u00a0Thank goodness! \u00a0She taught me how to eat right and without that knowledge I would not be beautiful svelte ME. \u00a0[Thank you, Mommy, for being so clean (which impressed my husband) and taking good care of me. \u00a0Thank you for NEVER feeding me canned crap or frozen dinners.] \u00a0A pseudo yet passionate vegetarian she used to call the meat section in the super market, “THE MORGUE.”<\/p>\n From an early age, I collected paper and books.\u00a0 I love paper. \u00a0All kinds of P A P E R! \u00a0Handmade, however is my very special favorite. \u00a0I love libraries.\u00a0 I live for both\u2026 somehow.\u00a0 I write in journals.\u00a0 I have all my life.\u00a0 So\u2026 I have boxes and boxes of boxes I have written and books I have bought. \u00a0Books I have read and books I intend to read. \u00a0I have collected books my whole life. \u00a0Books are my grounding sanctuary. \u00a0I feed my spirit by reading. \u00a0I even read TONS of self help and spirituality books which have helped me figure out a style of being that WORKS for me. \u00a0I call it, “The Vacation Approach.” \u00a0It is how I live my LIFE.<\/p>\n YET\u2026 For over two years I had my books in boxes.\u00a0 Fearing that we would have to move away from our happy home in Los Angeles.\u00a0 Yet, it turns out that somehow my loving husband\u2019s first promise of \u201cCalifornia,\u201d keeps proving to be the golden truth of our LIFE story.\u00a0 Anyway\u2026 last week, I took the books out of the boxes and seeing them AGAIN is like being born again from a deadly slumber.<\/p>\n Ah!\u00a0 The number of ordeals\u2026 the PA I N!\u00a0 The Heartache!\u00a0 I\u2019ve had so many crash and BANG bad times with people in the last few years\u2026 IF the core of my LIFE were not LOVE I\u2019d lose faith.\u00a0 Fortunately\u2026 I have my dear old friend, my true LOVER and Partner in LIFE and Marriage, MY BIGGNESS. \u00a0Hartmuth Kolb is steadfast and true. \u00a0WE fit together like puzzle pieces. \u00a0He likes my books and appreciates that I am always reading. \u00a0NOW in this tower of printed pages I have my home, where I cultivate peace decorated with the fruits of LOVE harvest over many a year and preserved with care as a sanctuary from the noisy world of NEWS and life and filled with wonderful books brimming with adventure.<\/p>\n IF you have been putting off \u00a0Spring Cleaning, taking care of domestic chores.\u00a0 S T O P!<\/p>\n It is time to get your books out of boxes and remember what you are made of.<\/p>\n Warm regards,<\/p>\n Frau Kolb<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" 17 May 2013 Los Angeles California “Spring Clean in LA,” \u00a9 Frau Kolb 2013 Yes it is true that I HATE to clean.\u00a0 I get angry, very angry, when I clean.\u00a0 I get mean.\u00a0 I am vicious.\u00a0 Merciless.\u00a0 Ruthless in my aspirations to perfection!\u00a0 I do not relent until das HAUS sparkles!
